

Toronto, September 17 ? On Saturday September 15th, Schneider Power Inc celebrated the dedication and phase two groundbreaking of their wind farm expansion project on Manitoulin Island. Thomas Schneider, CEO, Schneider Power Inc. was joined by Brent St. Denis, MP Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, Mike Brown, MPP Algoma-Manitoulin and Richard Stephens, Reeve, Central Manitoulin at the ceremony.

groundbreaking and dedication ceremony here in Manitoulin. Renewable resources are vitally important and the Providence Bay wind farm will continue to be a great addition to our community.?
The Providence Bay Wind Farm is a small-scale, low-impact wind farm near Providence Bay & Spring Bay on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. It is approximately 400 acres and currently has two Enercon wind turbines with a unit generating capacity of 800 kW each. The wind farm?s second phase will see the installation of an additional three 2.3 Megawatt machines. The total generation capacity will be up to 10 MW.
The wind farm will also house a public information centre that will feature information and
learning materials on renewable energy, wind farm operations and energy conservation.
